Day 87: Apply for Immigrant Justice Corps Fellowships in West Virginia!

I’ve just announced to WVU Immigration Law Clinic grads that Immigrant Justice Corps (IJC) is now accepting applications for their 2024-2026 fellowship class - and they are looking to place some of those fellows in West Virginia!

There is a particularly great demand for Fellows who will work with unaccompanied children. These children were all previously in the custody of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Office of Refugee Resettlement and have been released to live with family or other guardians in West Virginia.

IJC Fellows are placed in host organizations and provided with salary plus training, mentoring, community-building, and networking support. Over 90% of IJC Fellows remain in the immigration law field after the fellowship.

Application Deadline: October 20

Law school graduates from the classes of 2022, 2023, and 2024 are all eligible to apply. Applications (linked here) are due to IJC by October 20.

IJC is simultaneously working to recruit and enroll host organizations in West Virginia. We are hopeful that the first class of IJC Fellows will be place in West Virginia in 2024, with additional fellows added in subsequent years.

If you’d like more details about applying for an IJC Fellowship (or if you are a West Virginia-based nonprofit that is interested in hosting a fellow), feel free to contact me through the WVU Law Clinics for more information.
