Day 171: Christmas in South Park

Technically, I think you can have a White Christmas any time in December. It still counts.

When you drive across the Pleasant Street Bridge into the historic South Park neighborhood of Morgantown, you pass the South Park Service Center on the corner of Pleasant and Cobun Avenue. You can’t miss it.

It’s one of those old stations that looks like it’s been around since the 1970s, and there’s a big white marquee letter sign right on the corner, in the parking lot.

Every month, the owner puts up a new witticism on the marquee. This month:

“What do you call a wreath of 100s?

A WREATHA FRANKLINS.”

A corny joke never goes out of style. (Neither does a sense of community.)

Merry Christmas from South Park!
