Day 155: Why I Write About History to Change the Law, on Substack

In April, I started a Substack publication called How We Got Here. I wanted to explored the stories about immigration and the making of immigration law.

At is worst, history is “just one damned thing after another.” But at its best, history can change us by complicating what we think we know about each other, the world, ourselves.

Immigration is stuck in a red v. blue holding pattern. I don’t see how we move forward from here in the law without stories and they power they have to soften our most hardened boundaries.

This week from How We Got Here, on Substack.
