Day 110: A Pig on the Playground

While walking along the rail-trail this evening, I had the pleasure to make the acquaintance of this fine specimen of swine, name of Oinky.

Not every day does one meet a pig while walking downtown, especially one grazing on the playground behind a Marriott Hotel. I stopped to chat with pig and family, and was invited to pet Oinky, which I did. Oinky made little response to me but did look up with curiosity concerning a small canine companion with whom I was traveling. Dog and pig sniffed each other and continued about their respective business.

The photo above was soon dispatched to a three-year-old in North Carolina, who received the idea of a pig on a playground with considerable merriment. An altogether fine encounter, was my meeting with this exemplary animal.
